Creating a new document in Affinity Designer is easy!
- Open Affinity Designer.
- Click on the “File” menu at the top of the screen.
- Click on “New…” in the File menu.
- A new window will open. In this window, you can choose the size and orientation of your new document.
- Click on the “Create” button to create your new document.

In Affinity Designer, you can create a new document in a variety of ways:
1. From the Welcome screen
When you first open Affinity Designer, you’ll see the Welcome screen. From here, you can either click on the “New Document” button, or click on the “Open Recent” button to open a document you’ve worked on before.
2. From the File menu
You can also create a new document by going to the File menu and selecting “New…” from the drop-down menu. This will bring up the New Document dialog, where you can choose the settings for your new document.
3. Using the keyboard shortcut
There’s also a keyboard shortcut you can use to create a new document: simply press Command+N (on a Mac) or Ctrl+N (on Windows).
Once you’ve created a new document, you’ll see the New Document dialog, which will ask you to choose the settings for your new document.
1. Choose the document type
The first thing you need to do is choose the type of document you want to create. Affinity Designer offers a variety of document types, including:
• Pixel document: ideal for web and app design, as well as for creating graphics for screens.
• Vector document: perfect for print design, logos, and illustrations.
• Print document: used for print design, such as flyers, posters, and magazines.
2. Choose the document size
The next thing you need to do is choose the size of your document. You can either enter the width and height manually, or you can choose from a list of preset sizes.
3. Choose the resolution
The resolution is the number of pixels per inch (ppi) in your document. The higher the resolution, the more detailed your document will be.
4. Choose the color mode
The color mode determines the colors that can be used in your document. The most common color modes are RGB and CMYK.
5. Choose the document profile
The document profile is a set of color profiles that define how colors should look in your document.
6. Click “Create”
Once you’ve chosen all the settings for your new document, click on the “Create” button to create your document.
In Affinity Designer, creating a new document is simple and straightforward. Here’s how:
1. Open Affinity Designer and click on “File > New…”.
2. In the “New Document” dialog, select the desired document type from the “Document Type” drop-down menu.
3. Enter the desired width and height for the document in the “Width” and “Height” text boxes.
4. Select the desired unit of measurement from the “Units” drop-down menu.
5. Choose the desired color mode from the “Color Mode” drop-down menu.

If you want to create a new document in Affinity Designer, there are a few things you need to do.

Creating a New Document in Affinity Designer
When you first open Affinity Designer, you’ll be asked to choose a document type. For the purposes of this tutorial, we’ll be choosing the Web Document type.
Once you’ve selected your document type, you’ll be able to choose a preset or create a custom document. For the purposes of this tutorial, we’ll be choosing the Web Banner preset.
Once you’ve selected your preset, you’ll be able to choose a width, height, and orientation for your document. For the purposes of this tutorial, we’ll be choosing a width of 1200px, a height of 600px, and a landscape orientation.
Once you’ve chosen your document size, you’ll be able to choose a background color for your document. For the purposes of this tutorial, we’ll be choosing a white background.
Once you’ve chosen your background color, you’ll be able to choose a resolution for your document. For the purposes of this tutorial, we’ll be choosing a resolution of 72ppi.
Once you’ve chosen your resolution, you’ll be able to choose a color profile for your document. For the purposes of this tutorial, we’ll be choosing the sRGB color profile.
Once you’ve chosen your color profile, you’ll be able to choose a file format for your document. For the purposes of this tutorial, we’ll be choosing the JPEG file format.
Once you’ve chosen your file format, you’ll be able to choose a quality for your document. For the purposes of this tutorial, we’ll be choosing a quality of 100%.
Once you’ve chosen your quality, you’ll be able to choose a location for your document. For the purposes of this tutorial, we’ll be choosing the Desktop as our location.
Once you’ve chosen your location, you’ll be able to choose a name for your document. For the purposes of this tutorial, we’ll be choosing the name “Affinity-Designer-Tutorial”.
Once you’ve chosen your name, you’ll be able to choose a width, height, and orientation for your document. For the purposes of this tutorial, we’ll be choosing a width of 1200px, a height of 600px, and a landscape orientation.
Once you’ve clicked the “Create” button, your new document will be created and you’ll be taken to the Affinity Designer workspace.
